I am always excited when I meet a young couple via a newborn life. Most recently it was Megan and Jered Hartman. However, not our first meeting, I was a second shooter at his sisters wedding a couple of years ago. At that time I fell in love with their family. They were fun and very sweet people. Megan contacted me through email about maternity and newborn photos for their upcoming baby girl. As I am with all inquiries, I was very excited! Once Megan and I decided on the best package for their needs, it was time to just wait for the big day. As it gets closer I like to check in on the mommies to be, Megan wasn't any different. She was feeling good but very ready to meet her baby. Once I've confirmed a due date and have a client on my calendar, I like to send them Facebook friend requests, it makes tagging them in photos a lot easier. As I did with her and Jered, I noticed something on their pages that I was completely unaware of. Not even a year ago, this amazing young couple lost a baby boy. This is what I read in a Facebook post...
As many of you know, Megan and I were very excited to share that were were expecting a baby this coming April. Early in Decamber we were thrilled to learn that we were going to have a baby boy. A few days later our world was turned upside down when we were called back into the doctors office and were informed that our baby had several serious health complications. Earlier this week we learned that our baby did not make it. Megan was induced on Tuesday night and our baby boy was born on 1/1/15 at 1:12 am. We named him Jaxon Nicholas Hartman and we were able to hold him and let him know how much he is loved while surrounded by our families. This is obviously a very difficult time for us , but we love our baby boy very much and thank God for the little bit of time we had with him... Jered Hartman
After reading this my heart broke. However the timing of me discovering this followed by the birth of their healthy baby girl, Mila, made me realize how good Gods timing and promise is in our lives. Soon we will be celebrating the birth of the Christ child, who's sole purpose in coming to us was to give us hope. Through His life and death we have hope for life after we leave this earth. It's very hard to comprehend that this life is temporary and not our own, but it is, and the true hope is to be joined with our Creator and those who have passed before us in His kingdom. He is the light and hope through all darkness. The light that comes at the end is always what's best for us, even if it's not what we expected, He provides, and He is faithful in His promise. "For I know the plans I have for you, decalres the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope". Jeremiah 29:11
The strength and love that I saw and experienced with Megan and Jered is the light of hope. Shy of a year after a tragic and surprising loss, they have a beautiful new baby girl, and a little sister for Jaxon. Merry Christmas to this beautiful family, and welcome Miss Mila, you are perfect!!
